Rules

Participation requirements:

1) To be considered active and to be included in the planning of missions, it is requested that all players post a minimum of once every week.

2) You must not, under any circumstances, use another player's Primary Character or overuse an NPC without their knowledge or consent. This SIM, however, shares many characters that are meant to be controlled by all writers. These characters are the Primary Characters of the Current CO with privileges' to edit anything outrageous or offensive.

3) The shared characters are labeled (Shared) and you may write for them. When writing for a shared cast member, edits may occur to maintain canon consistency, correct grammar or spelling, split up long blocks of text but with as light a touch as possible, never deleting anything.

4) Be patient and kind. We cannot read each others minds, and are often communicating with whole days between messages. Misfires will happen, be adult about it and talk it through. Keep it fun, remember we are making this story together, too much control and it becomes tedious.

Communicating

When writing in-character you need to use the third person perspective if others are involved. If it is a solo post, or you are narrating thoughts to the reader, first person is fine.– refer to your character by their name and by appropriate descriptor. Hate speech is ONLY allowed if it’s in Character and MUST be cleared with everyone in advance. Use quotation marks (“”) to denote when your character is speaking, < Telepathic Speech > is in brackets.

Use italics to denote what your character says to themselves. italics can be coded in with <”i”> these are my thoughts .I put quotations marks around the i to keep it from disappearing as coding to the website, remove the quotes and anything inside the brackets will be italicized

Finally, use =/\= “hi” to denote what your character says over the comm badge. For grammar and punctuation treat it as an extension of the first quotation mark.

On board Second Star, the communique is =0=, on Starfleet, or by Starfleet it is =/\=. Other Major races we will work with will have their own symbols.

Example of how a scene lays out...

-Start-

{Deck 30- Turbolift Junction}

She had already left with the phaser manifolds, it was dangerous, he hadn't finished sealing them off. Chavez hit his comm badge on his way to the turbolift, nervously thinking <"i">She could kill herself, why didn't I finish?!"

=0= Chavez to Rosz!

Ro was carrying a crate with both hands, so she had to speak loudly for the comm to send.

=0= “Rosz here”

=0= Stop where you are! I'll... be right there."

Rosz didn't like the sound of that.

Tag Chavez
