| General Overview | Quinton Beck is a reserved but very jovial professional ShipMaster. He prefers a more simple designation of "Beck." His father served in Starfleet, and there was a family commitment to the Humanitarian fleet. His brother was lost in action presumed dead, and young Quinton hated the idea of soldiers marching to their doom under orders and drumbeats. Life Stories
| Service Record | At Seventeen, his parents had a separation of their marriage and he went to live with his mother and other family in Ronara Prime near what would be the Cardassian DMZ. It was 2370 and his brother had made a life and home on a world near contested space with Cardassians. The DMZ is signed into effect and they are all trapped inside their home system Ronara Prime. While in the DMZ he discovers his mother has ties to a new formed faction called the Maquis, and his brother was the sympathizer who recruited her. This had also been the source of his parents dissolution, and his brother going missing. His brother turns up over the years in varous forms but is not seen again once the Dominion war starts and the Badlands raided. Quinton Takes command of a vessel of his very own, the "Second Star" A Rigelian freighter. Beck and his friends turn the freighter into a workhorse for the stars, and they become a crucial role in the recovery of the region in their service. During one particularly grueling courier service taking refuge from a traitor, they find the Lafitte. The Lafitte take Quintons dreams to a new level, as he pours his personal fortune along with several others to restoring the ship. After much contest with Starfleet the crew are granted a charter under a newly minted field of service called the "Reserve Merchant Fleet." Quasi Starfleet crew mixed with a for profit non Starfleet operation allows for a flexible jurisdictional alignment and Quinton finds he can offer Starfleet more than they can do for themselves in many regards. |
