Life Stories
Service Record | Smith was born on Earth toward the end of 2342. His father was a biologist connected with the Federation, but not Starfleet. His mother was a stay-at-home mom. She died when Jonathan was 10, and he has no siblings. At this time, his father has not remarried. Jonathan did well in school, except for the year his mother died. His father hired a tutor and he caught up after a few months. He was in no more trouble than most of his friends. He played baseball and was on the swim team in middle school and high school. Having every intention of following in his father's footsteps, Jonathan was in his first year in college when he attended a lecture co-presented by a xenobiologist and a xenoarchaelogist, both from Starfleet. His attention was caught firmly, and he discussed options with his father. Taking his father's advice, Jonathan finished his first year of college, while applying to Starfleet Academy. He was accepted on his second application, at the end of his second year of college, where he'd switched his major from general biology to xenobiology. Because he had taken some of the science courses needed, and done well, he was only behind in command classes. Those he made up during his summers and graduated from the Academy in 2.5 years. During his early years in Starfleet, he concentrated on his career, but something happened when he was stationed on USS Mayflower. He's not forthcoming about it, but he left Starfleet, and serves only in civilian roles, accepting no rank and no responsibilities other than doing his job as an Alien biologist and archaeologist. 2362-2364: Starfleet Academy 2364-2369: USS Nimitz, Science Officer 2369-2374: USS Berlin, Science Officer 2374-2380: USS T'Plana-Hath, Senior Science Officer 2380-2384: USS Lovell, Senior Science Officer 2384-2387: USS Mayflower, Senior Science Officer 2387-2389: Second Star 2390: Making life changes |
