Personality & Traits
| General Overview | Akio is a mad scientist who has disassociation with reality due to his spectrum of intelligence. Able to think far outside the bounds of normal science he was driven mad by the differences in what he perceived as real versus what was tangibly real. This lead to a dark period for him for several decades selling himself to anyone who needed a tinkering crackpot. He rallied with Federation Aid, but was stymied by their laws and ethics constantly and disqualified himself from further aid. He continued to work odds and ends eventually crossing paths with Judah Capek. Akio and Judah are as much a couple in love as anyone else could fall in love, though it is a love for each other nothing sexually motivated. |

| Service Record | Akio would have fit in with 20th century comic book villains nicely if they were real and Akio not depressingly realistic in the tragedy of his madness. He was gifted, a mind that promised to change science every other day with its new insights and discoveries. This lead to madness, and sorrow and ultimately his near demise. Akio went through a time of despondent homelessness, plied his intelligence as a trade earning what he could fixing machine parts, dredging the muck of civilization. He was discovered by a Federation Program for rehabilitation and therapy and given a new life. |

| Personal Bio | Akio was born to a family without resources or wealth, but beloved in community. Rejecting his familial connections he sought to chase the stars and learn the secrets of the universe. A student of life, he taught himself Biology and attained his medical license never having taken one proper course. His degree is technical and research based, but he has the knowledge to perform Medical procedures. Having never taken ethics or morality lessons along with his genius intellect has given him problems. He is not afraid to research or experiment in any field, or any subject. Pain and pleasure are just physical responses to stimuli and he lives in his own head. His relationships never lasted, the one child he had lost to him when the mother took it. His life had left him despondent when he tried to take his own life, using lab equipment in an attempt to digitize himself. The Investigator determined Akio knew it was not viable technology and ruled it as a suicide attempt. Akio was truly making an effort to digitize his own brain, it was not suicide that day, but abandonment of his humanity and desire to live as Humans. This began a period of time where he was totally cast out and resorted to criminal work for earn a keep. Spiraling into a life he never thought he would lead, Akio did dark deeds. A family member of a wealthy family is keeping a child on life support and one party wants him dead, the other wants to keep him in stasis. The doctors agree to remove the life support as there is no chance of recovery for the body. Akio is part of a crew, his job to keep the boy alive in a stasis tube. The sister who hired the crew just wants to keep her brother alive. Akio realizes Judah is alive, but trapped in the body, thus the desire for his family to have him euthanized. His sister is ruining her life, and Akio changes the plan so that she can pretend she wasn't involved. He will take Judah, keep him alive, and find a way to free the boys mind. Akio works for a ship, but Judah is a liability and being looked for. A small ship with discreet crew need a doctor and he joins Alan Beck on the former namesake vessel Second Star. Judah is given a chance to grow and Akio has created a neural interface to a computer system. Akio and Judah are now a duo, with the current Second Star, he has become the ships Operating System and holographic crewman. Akio can't be on the billet as any official crewmember, and faces scrutiny as a kidnapper and biogenic Dr. Mengele. |
