Mission: Meanwhile...
Location: Cargo Bay Conveyor

-Start-

{Cargo Conveyor, Main Shuttlebay}

The Transport vessel was plain, the two officers were more interested in the fact that it was made up of seventeen modules which coupled like molars in a row. Each module had a small cockpit, which allowed them to be separated and moved within a normal hangar, and rejoined once it was out of the hangar. It was a silver-black color which when it was against the color of space, seemed to disappear.

Whatever it was made of, it wasn't being shared, not with them. Rohbards had outfitted the ship, these modules were small shuttles really and had to have cost her a fortune. Seeing so many of them stacked awaiting dispersal into the ship was daunting.

Avor barked, his tone harsh but only for effect,“You're not hired to stand around and gawk.”

The crew of twenty or so techs looked left at the pile of crates which were to be loaded and their boss, with a large PADD on their right ready to mark off what they were loading. Moving towards a large pile, they watched another few uniforms add to their pile. Ignoring the groans from some of the group, a red haired man, built to lift and carry picked up four crates stacked on top of a pile, carting them over to be scanned.

Vicente directed them,“Toilet paper goes to two, soap over to one and reptile pellets....” Vicente had no idea, he looked to Avor.

Avor looked at the information which came up on the PADD, pointing to the man holding the antigrav sled of feed for the animal farm. “Module five.” It was a guess, but they had to keep the train moving along.

Waiting until the carrier moved along the modules, he scanned the next crate. “Science equipment. Module two.” Scanning the next eight on a set of grav lifters, he continued. “And six, four, five... Large logs go to two. Filters... Module five.”

Scanning the next single crate, he took a deep breath.

“Waste pellets.”

Vicente heard his tone, “Are they changing the waste system?”

"Not in my quarters."

"Sir, about the Fish in Container 77342..."

“Come back in an hour, they'll live.” He told a woman who ranked the same as he did, but did as she was told. She shot him a look, so he replied “I'm simply scanning, decisions are this guy.” He gestured towards Vicente.

Continuing and ignoring anyone talking to him, Avor looked at the next list. “Science Equipment. Medical Drugs. Engineering Equipments, Candy.”

He stopped took a deep breath and continued. “Section seven through nine of Excelsior-Merchant Class warp core shielding."

Vicente grabbed the module, "Get a workbee delivering this ASAP to Chief Callahan."

"...Sheets, underwear, dolls?.. knives, teaspoons, tablespoons, draining spoons, diapers, flies, ants, mosquitoes, butterflies, rats, and small live rodents, and trauma packs.” He indicated what module and scanned the next lot.

“General ship wiring, pink paint, green paint, aquatic fish, bottled water.”

Vicente shoved a manifest in his face after being ignored the whole time Avor spoke.

"What?" Work was a relief fo rAvor, it kept his mind occupied, but Vicente was getting annoying.

“It says material.”

"What kind?"

"Gee, why am I asking the guy with antennae and a tricorder whats inside the box?

Avor chuckled in good spirit, scanning it, he nodded. “Material... silk, satin, nylon, cotton, flannelette, acrylic fibre, angora, wool, rayon, Sharkskin, microfibre, neoprene, Irish linen, chiffon, damask, denim, dungarees, Egyptian cotton, suede, ultrasuede, velour, Venetian lace, velvet, yarn, corduroy, coolmax, canvas, moleskin, mohair, Lycra, Lycra knit, lambswool, lace, gabardine, fleece, flannel, fishnet, Chantilly lace, chenille, banarasi sari, mesh, netting, argentella lace, oilskin, braid, burano lace, organza, polar fleece, twill, taffeta, protective textiles, nomex, modacrylic cotton, kevlar, textile fibres, and biotextiles."

Vicente had tuned out during the list. "What are they doing? Sewing a new hull?”

Avor shook his head, “Tailor shop.”

“Pathology Equipment?”

"Deck 4"

“Science Equipment......portable?”

"The Mission Vehicle will carry that. Shuttlebay.

“Screws, rivets, and other construction anchors?”

"Workbee."

“Drugs, explosives, chocolate, marine rations, powdered soups, sugar and other food.”

"Medical Drugs?"

Vicente considered a moment, "Want me to say yes?"

"Talloc needs to vet it, set it aside."

“And I've got sewing machines, seeds for grain crops, cereals, legumes, beans, soy beans.....”

The offloading continued. “Plantains, Breadfruit, Sweet Potatoes, Cassava, Canola, hydroponics equipment, a variety of oils cooking, hydrogenated, Vegetable oil fuel, and more oils?"

"Module ten.” Avor guessed again. This was getting beyond him.

“Fragrance oils, perfumes, autosequencers, T-9 energy converter, microfusion generators and generators, thruster packs..... no spacesuits though.”

She scanned the long and getting longer list. “TR-116's, Tractor Beam parts, Tricobalt Beam parts, Trionic Initiators, Turbolift shaft capsules, Decompression Chambers times two. Induction Relays, Intercom Equipment, Isolation protocol equipment, Transporter Inhibitor, Transporter scrambler, Warp Core and warp coil?”

Avor indicated by pointing again, “Module eleven, Module five. Actually seven, it's already been fitted out for that purpose brand new too.”

One of the loaders shrugged, delivered from one of the construction yards, arrived before the transporter. “Don't bother wondering, some items make sense, others........ other's just don't. I have Teddy Bears, Warning buoys, Emergency Hand Actuators, Magnetic Constrictors, Magnetic boots, Maglocks, Isomolecular Scanners..."

“Do we have room for all of this?” She asked.

“Well hold your lamentations.” Her counterpart stated re-entering.

“We've just got a load of stuff from the Ship Construction yard.”

She handed him a second PADD to accompany the one he was carrying. Avor was now tuning out the list.

"...forks, other cooking utensils, two stoves, something called a microwave oven, a freezer and cooler, both big enough to serve a Starbase, along with crates of pans, pots, frypans, grillers, and atleast six other kitchen appliances. Seems someone isn't big on replicators.”

Avor couldnt take it, “I'm capable of reading.”

He kept scanning what the loaders were carting as he skimmed the PADD he was just handed. “Atmospheric System equipment, Internal plating, consoles, escape pods.”

She read from the second PADD. “Terraforming Equipment, Antimatter generator, Antimatter injector, airlock latches and hatches, Jefferies Tube capsules, Turbolift capsules, deflector shield equipment, tricorders, weapons, impulse drive equipment, anti-grav lifters, gravity pads, transporter, holodeck, and person protective equipment. Cryostasis pods medical, hydraulics, diving, electrical, fire and emergency equipment. Laboratory, medical, science, security equipment. Armoury set up ready to be installed, tachyon beamers, baryon sweepers, torpedoes, holodeck simulation programs, scientific instruments.”

“Oh the best is too come.” She scanned the last of the crates all seventy three of them. “Food. Frozen. Ready to Eat.”

Twenty three laborers sweating under a hard days workload heard the magical words.

Avor looked to Vicente, "Those are for the mercs, Rohbards people?"

Vicente nodded, hoping Avor was leading the way.

"Shame about the spoilage... we will have to... dispose of the whole module."

Vicente looked at the seventy off containers, "Which one spoiled though.

Avor consulted his screen scanning them.

"Oh definitely the one with Chocolate and fruit... tragedy that."

Vicente let a smile hang on his face, and saw the gathered crew setting their stuff down, readying for a feast.

=0= Avor to loading control, ah better keep the room clear til we get this spill locked down.

Vicente cracked the seal, Avor looked at all of them, "We go back to work in ten, and this... was a spoiled shipment okay... got it?"

The smell of strawberries sealed the deal.
