Mission: From Within...
Location: Heading to Deck 11

It's Going Up

-Start-

{Garrison-Deck 14}

"She is onto your outfit, I though it was idle suspicion but nearly half of your planted crew she has earmarked as your people." Chad was recounting the damages, Fala Gaz had taken the bait, but somehow managed to still bleed them dry in the lease options for the decks they had taken.

Sheila didn't care, the writing was on the wall a little earlier than anticipated, she would ust up the intimidation factor, have her people rough up wayward crew and get a reputation... it was a minor concern so long as she had a few good people undercover still.

"It's too late for them to remove any crew outright, tell our exposed agents to wear the badges of the outfit and start carrying a big stick. They are to stay isolated to our Garrison and keep up the image that we aren't all over the ship right? Anyone who compromises our systems or leased decks needs to be handled roughly."

Chadwick nodded, eager to add this last bit. "And as for my payment, I believe I completed all my objectives, the lease for your decks, provisions from Intelligence, pardons for your crew..." He waited, letting his recitation act as impetus lest he spill all her dirty secrets.

"Go. Now."

Chad did not delay, her voice was flat, the same way it got when she was in her operator mode. He almost bowed as he left.

Melissa Hawkins awaited her opportunity. Starfleets accountant attache to their group was relaying to Sheila how thoroughly Fala Gaz had secured the ships and crew. She waited until Chad had departed, and stepped up to Sheila.

“Go.” Sheila said, voice still flat.

“The Multiadaptive shielding, is in place throughout the ship. We've started with the Monotanium adapted internal shielding."

"That won't stop a drone."

"No, it's not supposed to either, just keep em contained long enough to move around them. Though I've gotta say putting Monotanium plating sprayed with pulverised and mixed monocrystal cortenum, monocaladium particles and mizinite internally, is something one usually doesn't encounter.” Melissa stated.

"Prevents beam outs, Areas?” Arcadia asked, as she headed towards deck 11, the Hydroponics and Food Specialist Zone.

“Completed... Engineering sections decks 19, 20, 21, 24 and 28. Warp Reactor Core Deck 12 to 26, only the areas associated with the Warp Core. Computer Core areas on 8, 9 and 10. Security Deck 13. Forward Lounge and sickbay on deck 7 and the main bridge Deck 1. Partially complete Deck 11 focusing on the food production areas along with the mess on Deck 10. To be done 16, 17, 18, 23, and our containment units on 27, 28, 29 and Flight Hangars."

“There's more of the Monotanium adapted internal shielding coming with our mission vehicle 'Tiburon'. Once we're done I want you to start on the areas outside our Garrison.

"Whoa, how are we going to keep that quiet?"

"Poly-technical tape, it will defy scans, check the bins we just got delivered I know it arrived today."

"Okay and if anyone asks what we are doing?"

"Just take it slow Focus on the internal hull area's but do it all.” Arc instructed. “When you finish with our areas do 23 first, then 16, 17 and 18, then the containment units. Include the Jtubes and Coil field assemblies.”

Melissa was making notes as Sheila talked. “We're going to have to shut down the Turbolifts to line the shafts. We can line the turbolift capsules at their holding point, since the ship has people working all hours, I'm going to have to make it known to Beck and rest of the crew when the TL's will be offline. Do you want me to do that when we reach that point? Can we see what we can do about speeding the TL's up?”

“No, We don't know if the current warp core can handle the additional power load.” Arc answered. “One step at a time, we're not taking any power by putting up the internal plating. This core is underpowered, and we aren't getting a dedicated M/AM reactor to ourselves.

“And if the crew has a problem with us installing mysterious devices?” Melissa asked.

“Ship and crew safety is all you say. If he or anyone else has problems, divert to me.”

"You said carry a big stick..."

"Stun Batons at best, we work with these people can't pull out the lash unless we have to.

Melissa made one last mark on the padd, "The hologram is not an EMH either, still working on it, I think it is a variant of EMH that was remodeled for menial labor due to inherent instability."

"Still priceless, we need a leash on it too, hardwire shunt all of our data, use optical verification as well as biometrics."

Sheila stopped at the sight of two kids in her path. They were painting the corridor in the red and green scheme matching the exterior aesthetic. Her orders were to commandeer the vessel, use it for ferrying spies, leave Beck a puppet to Starfleets whims. The sight of the two children hard at work shook her from her mission. This was home to these people, they had no clue of what the grand ambitions were.

Sheila looked at the padd Melissa had updated. The anti Borg nodes were small and vital to stopping Borg assimilation of ships systems. It occurred to her there was no reason to use this ship aside from how public its profile was. It was an Intelligence dream, but it meant putting them in harms way. Why did Starfleet feel empowered to act on these peoples lives?

"Long, straight strokes, going in a circle will leave a messy lumpy look." Melissa had begun helping the young boy and his sister, showing them even and long strokes.

The little boy didnt care, wasn't listening to her. Melissa took a finger swipe of paint and dotted his nose.

"We don't mind messy do we?"

Sheila found herself speechless at the question.

It was going to get very messy soon.
